Alabama Power issues Lake Conditions Message related to recent rainfall. More rainfall is forecast for Friday (January 29th). Condition messages may change. Lake elevations are always subject to change, depending on conditions.

TALLAPOOSA RIVER


LAKE HARRIS (WEDOWEE)
Due to locally heavy rainfall, Harris will rise above normal elevation for this time of year. Harris will crest around elevation 789 on Wednesday, January 27th.

LAKE MARTIN
Due to locally heavy rainfall, Martin will rise above normal elevation for this time of year. Martin will crest around elevation 486.50 on Tuesday, February 2nd.

LAKE THURLOW
Thurlow reservoir will be drawn down some 10 feet for an extended period beginning January 6, 2010. Rains could impact this drawdown and lake elevation could vary over the planned drawdown period, set to end March 15, 2010. Individuals with boats and other water-related equipment and facilities should always be alert to changing conditions on Alabama Power reservoirs and be prepared to take the necessary steps to protect their property.

COOSA RIVER

LAKE WEISS
Due to locally heavy rainfall, Weiss will rise above normal elevation for this time of year. Weiss will crest around elevation 562.5 on Thursday, January 28th.

NEELY HENRY LAKE
Due to locally heavy rainfall, spill gates have been opened at Henry Dam.

LOGAN MARTIN LAKE
Due to locally heavy rainfall, Logan Martin will rise above normal elevation for this time of year. Logan Martin will crest around elevation 462.5 on Tuesday, January 26th.

LAY LAKE
Due to locally heavy rainfall, spill gates have been opened at Lay Dam. Lake elevations are always subject to change, depending on conditions.

LAKE MITCHELL
Due to locally heavy rainfall, spill gates have been opened at Mitchell Dam.

LAKE JORDAN
Due to locally heavy rainfall, spill gates have been opened at Jordan Dam.


BLACK WARRIOR RIVER

SMITH LAKE
Due to locally heavy rainfall, Smith will rise close to summer pool elevation. Smith will crest around elevation 509.25 on Thursday, January 28th.
