Wally Sowell of Blue Creek Marina on Lake Martin said their prices have been increasing 13 to 17 percent per week for the past four weeks. Sowell went to say that much of the price difference between marinas has to do with the supplier's price and the amount of fuel ordered. If a marina has small storage tanks and an order is placed for less then an entire delivery truck, a delivery fee is charged.
Some of the best deals for marina fuel prices may be at marinas that sell gas for automobiles too. Although the dock price will certainly be higher than auto gas, they seem to have better prices than other marinas.
At the rate many boats burn fuel, price shopping for gas in today's market may not be worth the trip to a different marina.
