Restore water pump function with a new housing. OMC sterndrive water pump housings can wear over time resulting in reduced water flow and pressure. Replacing the pump housing (and impeller) can restore a proper supply of cooling water and reduce the chances of overheating the engine. Sierra replacement housings are engineered to meet the OMC specifications for water pumps used on many sterndrives manufactured between 1989—1993. The plastic body features brass bushings in each fastener point to prevent over-tightening and a channel for the seal. To refresh an older water pump, look to Sierra for the required parts.
